6 month checkup - Oct 9th

Kelsey with Uncle John

Kelsey is 15 pounds, 6 oz (30th percentile)

27 inches long (90th percentile)

She is starting to crawl backwards and in circles. We haven't quite figured out how to go forward yet (and we are in NO hurry says momma)

She is so strong and can stand up holding on to things - until she sees something on the floor that she really wants and falls down.

September Firsts

Tuesday Sept, 16th: Sat up for the 1st time by herself

We were at our small group meeting in Kyle and she just sat there and didn't fall over like she had been for several weeks.

Thursday, Sept. 18th: Ears Pierced

Kelsey and Mommy went and got our ears pierced.

Sunday, Sept 21st: First time to sleep without being swaddled. We are now in a Sleepsac and she can roll over and move all around the crib.

Tuesday, Sept. 23rd: Both bottom teeth came in on the same day. Yikes, she can bite now...

Status Report - Its been too long

Ok, so keeping a blog and working full time has been harder than I thought it would be. Here is a quick update on several months full of firsts:

Tuesday, June 3rd: Kelsey's 1st day of school

Kelsey at her 1st day of school in Kyle - 1.5 miles from home and 1.5 miles from Mommy's work

June 15th: Father's Day

Kelsey with Pops & Daddy

Kelsey made her 1st Father's Day present at school and gave to daddy. It was her footprint in paint with a poem on the back.

Kelsey also found her feet for the 1st time today and reached for them and held them in her hands.

She also slept for 9 hours at night for the 1st time. It was a very busy and memorable Father's Day.

Thursday June 19th: Father's Day #2 - Mimi, Pops, Aunt Lorel, Mommy & Kelsey went to Houston to see Papaw, Ann and Aunt Vicki (Flew in from California) in Houston for Father's Day

She rolled all the way over from her back to her stomach.

By the time she went back to school on Monday, July 8th, she was rolling across the floor both ways.

Sunday, July 13th: Leata & Kelsey spent 2 weeks with Mimi and Pops in Goliad at the ranch. Rob came down for 1 weekend and spent time with us. It was fun for the Brumby's & the Bartlett's.

July 31st: Kelsey ate her 1st veggie - Green squash. Yummie! (Almost 4 months old)

Kelsey eating her zucchini

Kelsey's Baptism in Goliad- May 25

The Bartlett's came to Texas. Sandy came down on Wednesday, Bob and Virginia came down on Saturday. We all went to Goliad on Saturday afternoon to spend the night and have Kelsey's baptism on Sunday. We were at the Methodist Church with Rev. Jason Teague - who married us 5 years ago.

All of us at the Goliad Methodist Church

Then afterwards we all went to the ranch and had lunch.

Kelsey's 2 week birthday

Our 1st day at church

Hanging out with daddy

It has been a really fast 2 weeks. On Wednesday we are going to Houston to visit Kelsey's great-grandparents for Birt's 91st birthday.

We had a lot of 1sts this past week... Our first church Sunday, our 1st bath - which was highly successful, but a little painful for me since Kelsey didn't seem to enjoy it at all. We have both been feeling really good - we go for a walk every day in the neighborhood, sometimes just to the mailbox, other times for a couple of miles.

We appreciate all the wonderful well wishers who have called or have been able to stop by and see us. She is changing everyday and we will keep the pictures coming.

Coming down to the Wire

The last week of pregnancy I have discovered is the hardest week of all. All Rob and I want to do is meet our daughter and she is really not that interested in coming out. She is apparently very comfy in the belly and still has plenty of room to move about.

I am still working and will be until delivery day - but I wouldn't mind having her any day now. We had a huge project at work that is tomorrow, so after that - any time would be great.

The nursery is finally done. The cradle room is done. Everything is cleaned and vacuumed and well...ready for the arrival of BGB.
